Julien is the Consulting Director of OutSofting China, a Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP) and an active Agile Consultant. His specialties are Agile development, Scrum, Lean software development, Lean startup and the business and management aspects of Agile development.

 

Who should attend?
This Agile Product Ownership seminar is intended for the leaders of the game development in Happylatte (Tech leaders, ScrumMasters, Product Owners, COO Art producers, some senior developers and game designers…) with the purpose to:
-       its ability to ship on time the first release of their product (release management)
-       improves the business focus and overall efficiency of the development teams.
 
What will you learn?
This 2-day course helps you have a deeper understand of Agile and in particular how to improve your Agile product management.
 
Agenda
Refreshers and introductions on Agile, Scrum, Lean, Lean startup (less than 4 hours)
This section is mainly intended to put everybody in the class at the same basic understanding and identify
Some areas where more explanations/exercises are needed.
The main questions that we will answer are the following:
-       What is Agile?
-       What is Lean?
-       What is Scrum?
-       What is Lean Startup?
-       How does all of these fit together?
-       What are the pre-conditions to have business success for each of these methods?
Preparing questions to be answered during the class.
 


High-level requirements management (Maximum of 3h)

-            Using the Leans startup canvas and MVP concept to guide development
-            Kano method
 
Detailed requirements management (Maximum of 5h):
Writing good user stories (less than 2h)
How to write good stories
How to split stories
Why acceptance criterias are critical and how to write them.
What is a good product backlog and what does it require (less than 1h)
Product backlog ordering techniques (less than 2h)
Why is this critical?
In this section we will study all the product backlog ordering techniques. From the most simple ones to the ones that are the most financial savvy.
 
 
Shipping good quality on time (Maximum of 4h):
Why definition of Done is critical (less than 1h)
Release planning techniques (less than 1h)
Different Agile methods for different parts of game development lifecycle (less than 2h):
What is Kanban
How to use it with Scrum for the whole lifecycle of game development.
 
Introduction to BDD (optional) (less than 1h)
What are the benefits and why can it speed up development by minimizing rework.

Course details
The course will start at 9AM, and ends before 6PM.
It is expected for participants to have the basic knowledge about Scrum. You may read the official Scrum Guide (in English or Chinese) or any of the Scrum books.
